We all have things in life that we absolutely treasure. For me, those are my relationship with God, my incredible husband, and spending time with friends and family. Life is made of individual moments, and relationships are the binding agent tying them together.
I long for a life well-lived, to love others fiercely, and to be present.
When it comes to the work I love, I’m so grateful to say that I come from a long line of photographers and artists. My great-grandparents’ cameras adorn a bookshelf in our home as a reminder of where this passion was born. Being called to a creative career is a blessing words simply cannot describe.
Charleston is where my sweet man and I have settled and, my goodness, what a place to call “home”. I was born in Nashville, raised in Chattanooga, made stops along the way in Macon and Sumter, and the South, well, it’s in my bones. Sweet tea, Spanish moss, Southern accents, unmatchable hospitality -- all of these things are deeply rooted in my heart. I was taught to love people for being exactly who they are and to show grace and kindness without exception.
I’d love to get to know you, too. Send me message and we’ll grab a fancy latte (my treat!).
Why is an engagement session important?
It’s the best way for us to get to see how the other works — me behind the camera and you in front of it. It is, without doubt, the number one way to be truly prepared for wedding day photography.
How long is the turnaround time for a wedding gallery?
Our contract will say 8 weeks, however, the typical delivery is between 4 and 6.
What is it like working with you?
My sincere hope is that it is as carefree as possible so your personality can shine through! I help through the entire process and while I may not pose you, I will ask you engaging questions, give tips, and help compose the entire scene of an image.
On a wedding day, I start by photographing your details and spending time with each respective side of the bridal party, capturing those candid getting-ready moments. Throughout much of the day, I'll photograph moments simply as they occur. While I’m working with the bridal party and with the couple, I want it to as sweet and enjoyable as can be, so that part of the wedding is much like an engagement session — there’s a lot of laughter and genuine fun.
Why do you use film?
In a word: intentionality. A photographer’s style is based on immensely more than editing; to me, it means taking the time needed to capture a truly incredible moment. With film, I'm able to slow down, see the authenticity of what’s in front of me, and can capture it with purpose and intention. There are portions of a wedding day where using digital equipment is a more optimal choice, and since I will have both types of equipment with me, I will use my best judgment.
Do you have backup equipment and are you insured?
Most definitely and most definitely.
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
I began in 2011 and am in my sixth season of wedding photography. Each year somehow just gets better and better!
How do I book you?
